Kathrin Gabler is an Egyptologist who specializes in the New Kingdom/Late Bronze Age period, hieratic texts, and the ancient worker’s village of Deir el-Medina. Her research interests range from social and economic history to prosopography to material studies and ‘object biographies.’

Kathrin is an enthusiastic researcher, teacher, and supervisor with extensive management experience. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, where she is substituting for Fredrik Hagen and Kim Ryholt. She is also conducting a large-scale (re)investigation of tomb TT 217 in Deir el-Medina and developing a cutting-edge research platform (ResearchSpace Deir el-Medina) at the University of Basel in cooperation with the French Institute for Oriental Archaeology in Cairo.
